Jobs and training
We believe we are one of the best quantum information groups in the world, with world class research and training opportunities. Consider applying to join us.
Training
PSI 1 year: Many students come to Perimeter through the Perimeter Scholars International (PSI) program. PSI is a 1 year masters program that is course focused, and includes a research essay component. All courses are taught at Perimeter. The PSI quantum information elective introduces students to quantum information theory.
PSI 2 year: The PSI program can also be extended to 2 years in some cases. In their second year students do an internship in quantum industry, and may additionally work with quantum information faculty.
IQC programs: The Institute for Quantum Computing has a broad set of programs available. Most PI-affiliated quantum information faculty can supervise students in at least one IQC quantum information program of study.
PhD program: Perimeter PhD applications come through the University of Waterloo. See information on Perimeters PhD program here.
Courses: Most quantum information courses are offered through the Institute for Quantum Computing. See a list of their courses here. Perimeter runs some additional course in-house. All course lectures are recorded in PIRSA; all past quantum information courses taught at Perimeter are available here. Some highlighted courses are:
- Quantum information and holography
- Non-local quantum computation
- Introduction to quantum information (May)
- Quantum information review (Gottesman)
Jobs:
Job opportunities at Perimeter Institute are posted on Academic Jobs Online. The postdoctoral positions are opened in the fall of each year.
